Sharply Double-Edge Razor Blades — 10 or 100
Ten blades, or a hundred.
Ten is a few months. A hundred is years — and works out at well under half the price per blade.
Work out what a cartridge costs you and you have the entire argument for a safety razor. The razor was never the expensive part; the refills were, and they were designed to be.
Stainless steel, standard double-edge format. They fit the Blade One and every other safety razor made. Nobody owns the format, which is exactly why it stays cheap.
Using them
Soften the hair with warm water first. Let the razor glide with short, light strokes — the weight does the cutting, so there is no need to press. Rinse and dry the razor after every shave; an edge lasts considerably longer dry than wet, which is what the SteelDock stand is for.
Change a blade when it starts to tug, not on a schedule. For most people that is every five to ten shaves.
